The Foreign Film genre includes any movie made outside of America. These films are usually subtitled in English for American audiences to enjoy. Foreign films have a much different flavor than American films, often broaching subjects American studios wouldn’t touch, or taking subject matter further than American studios would. Some favorites include Frederico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita (1960), Fritz Lang’s M (1931), Ingmar Bergman’s Persona (1966), and Warner Herzog’s Aguirre: The Wrath of God (1972). Films in the foreign genre are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Turner Classic Movies presents the greatest motion pictures of all time from one of the largest film libraries in the world.
